Things I liked: I had no idea what I was getting into when I started this book, but I ended up really enjoying it. Can Anton solve and stop the deeper plot before it’s too late? Anton often finds himself taking various assignments that seem simple on the surface, but often unearth deep plots to disrupt the balance of Power. The book is composed of three separate stories, but follow the same cast of characters. Night Watch follows Anton Gorodetsky, a Light Magician of the Moscow Night Watch, and his various adventures. Balance between the forces of Light and Darkness is preserved through the Treaty, where each side monitors the other via Watches to make sure neither become too powerful. When you are “initiated” as an Other, it is determined if you are Dark or Light.
